The ocean has given me a lot over the years. Warm memories, a watery glimpse into the surreal, a deep respect for the natural world, food on my plate, and more often than not, inspiration.
I understand the importance of the sea; to individuals, societies, the world itself. I've seen it feed families, inspire wide-eyed children, caution humanity that it's more volatile than we may think, and remind us that no matter how far inland we run, we are inextricably tied to it.
It's given me, all of us, so much. Now I want to give back to it, through art and my career, to ensure a sustainable future for us and the planet.
I'm part scientist, part artist, part communicator, and conservationist through and through.
